Computers For Kids Maryland collects old, used, or unwanted computers from individuals and organizations, and rehabilitates or refurbishes them. They are then delivered to Maryland schools, students and their families. By giving students access to computing, we aim to provide them with tools necessary to enhance their learning now and succeed in a technology-driven society later.
We accept computer donations from individuals and organizations alike (see our Donate Equipment page). All of our computers are installed with the Ubuntu operating system, which is published under the GNU General Public License (GPL), meaning that the operating system and most software designed for it are free to download, use, and distribute.
